Parallel Bi-Directional IEEE-1284 Cables

We can be your complete source for parallel printer cables, both Bi-Directional IEEE-1284 and standard Centronics. The IEEE-1284 standard uses three connector types:

Type A (DB25)
Type B (Centronics-36)
Type C (Mini-Centronics-36)

We have available for you the following cable types:

Standard Centronics Cables:
DB25 to Centronics 36 (Please indicate length)

IEEE-1284 Cables:
 DB25 Male to DB25 Male
 DB25 Male to DB25 Female
 DB25 Male to Centronics-36 Plug
 DB25 Male to Mini-Centronics-36 Plug
 Centronics-36 Plug to Mini-Centronics-36 Plug
 Mini-Centronics-36 Plug to Mini-Centronics-36 Plug

IEEE-1284 Requirements

The great majority of new parallel Printers, Scanners and Multi-Function products use Bi-Directinal interfaces and thus require the more advanced IEEE-1284 compliant cables.

Here are the basic requirements of this new standard:

1.All cables are twisted pair  2.Signal and ground return characteristic unbalanced impedance: 62 +/- 6 ohms.
3.Wire-to-wire crosstalk no greater than 10%
4.Cable requires a minimum of 85% optical braid coverage over foil.
5.Raw cable must be marked IEEE Std 1284-1994 Compliant

Standard cable lengths are available in 10 ft., 20 ft. and 30 ft. from some manufacturers. Since this cable has such good performance there is no need to be limited to a 6 ft. cable assembly.
